The national skill development programme is a comprehensive program launched by our Prime Minister, MR. Narendra Modi, in accordance with world youth skills day, was declared for the first time on 15th July 2015. Making India self-reliant is the main focus of the scheme. Effectiveness of skill India Programme

• According to CIME, unemployment reached about 34% among the people aged 20-24 in 2019, which summed up to 37.4 of the urban lot.
• In 2017, with around 8 million seekers, 5.5 million jobs were created.
• According to the PLFS survey, the unemployment rate among the 15-29 was 27.3.
